Dr. Meg Delgado, St. Petersburg College, College of Education Faculty, treated our PAL summer participants to a STEM competition at St. Petersburg College. They were given the challenge of creating a spacecraft that could land upright. The materials our kids could used were toothpicks, tape, mini marshmallows, popsicle sticks and the like. The mission was to drop the spacecraft from a height of one foot to start. They all did an amazing job and created some spectacular landing gear! An all girl team came away with the top prize! The group then went to the SPC planetarium to learn more about the stars to close out the day!
