The Police Athletic League is now offering an open gym night for the youth ages 13-18 held every Friday night from 8:00pm to midnight. PAL has partnered with Thomas "Jet" Jackson Recreation Center at Wildwood Park as the host facility. Two courts are available to accommodate five on five play, three on three or even come work on your individual skills. There is no cost to play. All participants must complete a PAL registration form, which requires a guardian's signature. Registration packets will be provided on site.

The Police Athletic League's Youth Wrestling Club concentrates on teaching children ages 5 to 18 the basics and fundamentals of wrestling. The instruction will be provided by multiple established high school coaches, who will also focus on teamwork, hard work, dedication, goal setting and other important values. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday at St. Petersburg High School. Ages 5-13 start at 5:30 and 14-18 start at 6:30. All experience levels are welcome. The coaches emphasize technique and conditioning to prepare each wrestler for competition all while providing a safe learning environment. Stop by the St. Petersburg PAL to complete a registration packet. Registration fees to participate are $10 a month. USA Wrestling in the sanctioning body of amateur wrestling. Participation in sanctioned competitions will be discussed with the coach and the decision will be based on skill level and practice participation. A USA insurance card is required to participate in USA Wrestling for $35 and regional/state wrestling meet fees range from $15-$25.
